CSC Preferred Access – In-Area Feature

Open access to care providers with no referrals required.

The PCP Option

You may decide to choose a primary care physician (PCP) when you enroll in the Preferred Access In-Area feature. Your PCP provides routine care such as checkups, health screenings and care for everyday health problems. You can choose a different PCP for each member of the family if you like. And you can change your PCP at any time.

A PCP can be a general practitioner,
family practitioner, internist or pediatrician.

You are not required to choose a PCP. But here's why we think it's a good idea:

  • Your PCP can serve as your personal health care manager.
  • Your PCP provides basic, routine care and helps you find a specialist when you need care that he or she can't provide.
  • Your PCP files claims for you. This can save you time and hassle.
  • Your PCP takes care of precertification. This is an approval process that's required for certain types of care.

PCPs are listed in Custom DocFind®, Aetna's online provider directory customized for CSC employees.
