Prescription Drug Benefits

Keeping medication affordable.

Overview

Prescription drug coverage is included in the CSC Preferred Access In-Area and Out-of-Area Features, CSC Exclusive Access Plan and CSC Managed Choice POS plans. There are two ways to save on prescription drugs: at retail pharmacies or by mail.

The prescription drug benefits available through each plan are different.

Retail Pharmacy

When your doctor prescribes medicine for a short-term illness or injury, you can fill your prescription for up to a 30-day supply at a retail pharmacy. If you visit a retail pharmacy that belongs to Aetna's national network (participating pharmacy), you'll pay your share of the cost for your medication when you pick it up. If you visit a non-participating pharmacy, you'll pay the entire cost of your prescription when you pick it up, then file a claim for reimbursement under the terms of your plan.

For a list of participating retail pharmacies, visit Custom DocFind®. Limits may apply to the retail pharmacy benefit depending on the plan you elect.

Aetna Rx Home Delivery®

If you need medication on a regular basis for an ongoing condition (such as diabetes, high blood pressure or allergies), considered a maintenance medication, you can order it through Aetna Rx Home Delivery. Not only can the mail order pharmacy save you money, it is an easy way to order up to a 90-day supply of medication and have it delivered right to your home. You include your payment with each new prescription or refill. Some plans have specific mail order requirements, so it is important that you review and understand the prescription drug benefits available through your plan.
